// How would memories sound or feel like? // This project raises the question of how people are used to keep and share their memories. A major part of how moments are remembered is captured by our vision. Our experiences though, are much more than just visual material. What if we would have to translate all these images into the language of our other senses? Blind people know what it means to interpret the world without seeing it. By just touching or hearing something their imagination opens up. A great group of blind people inspired this project and showed me how it is to perceive our surroundings differently. Memory Keepers suggest a way of experiencing our memories through sound recordings, which are then interpreted by a sound analysis program and transformed into haptic structures. The particular surfaces which are generated represent individual sounds and therefore create an own language.
